I took my 85 year old mother to the shop for a fitted bra. I was delayed outside by someone asking for directions. When I entered the store, the owner had taken my mother to the fitting room and a bra had already been given to my mother. While the owner was assisting my mother in putting the bra on, she did not measure my mother or listen to her needs. My mother did request a front-closing bra, but this one, apparently the most popular style, includes numerous hooks and nearly impossible for my mother to put on or take off. My mother has arthritis. In the moment, I did think the bra fit well, but I was bothered by the experience. Where was the individual attention? Where was the time taken to fit my mother correctly? We did leave the store with the bra, but we should have taken a deep breath and demanded a correct fitting and a bra that would be one that my mother could easily adjust herself. Our experience at the "special" bra shop was not good. The owner's general affect was rushed and annoyed. We will NOT return to Your Perfect Fit!
I went to Your Perfect Fit because I had heard that they have an extensive personalized fitting process to help you find bras with the best possible fit. The website boasts about this process, claiming that it takes 30-60 minutes and involves being measured by an "experienced fitter" who then brings a variety of styles and sizes to try and teaches you about elements of proper bra fit. This is not at all the experience I had. The owner of the store took one look at me (no measuring or sizing process of any sort) and brought me one bra and insisted that no other brand or style would fit me (FYI - I have average sized breasts so this is hard to believe). I asked her numerous times to explain why other brands would not fit me and what I should look for in future bra shopping to ensure a good fit. She gave the same answer to every question, "the sizes run differently for each style and brand; a given style/brand will work for some people but not others. I can't explain why other styles/brands won't fit you; they just won't" The owner used a negative, combative tone throughout our entire interaction. Furthermore, the store carries very limited selection and the prices are very high. Overall, my experience was frustrating and uncomfortable. I am more motivated than ever to take my business to Victoria's Secret, where the prices and selection are better and the salespeople are pleasant.
I love this store! It's wonderful after years of buying ill-fitting department store bras to have the option to get a bra that fits correctly. The owner is helpful and friendly. She also carries a selection of really cute clothes. The clothes, like the bras, fit me better than the usual department store clothes. The personalized assistance with selecting and trying on clothes to find what fits properly and looks best is invaluable. I hate shopping for clothes normally, but at Your Perfect Fit, it's become something I look forward to.
I am not a local so do not get here often. I had a great experience today as I was shopping for a nude color bra for under my summer tank tops. The owner was very helpful in bringing me the styles in the nude colors and I found 2 that I like. I was not in the market for a swimsuit but ended up buying a 3 piece set where a swim bra goes under the tankini top. It was the same brand, Elomi, of the 2 bras I bought. The owner did not pressure me to buy, and I'm happy because I hate when I feel pressured into purchases, especially expensive ones. Yes, these bras are pricier than Target, JCPenney, etc, but you can not fit well in any bras at those cheaper stores when you wear larger sizes. When you buy good bras, you look good and feel better about yourself than when you're spilling out of a box store bra. Everyone should at least get a proper bra fitting once to see the difference in how you look with a proper bra. Unless you're an A/B cup than I'm jealous you get to wear all the cute, cheap bras. :-)
